Lukas Neumayer si prende con merito il 19° ATP Challenger CITTÀ DI VICENZA – Trofeo FL Service. Dopo aver eliminato in semifinale il campione in carica Tseng Chun Hsin, oggi il ventitreenne austriaco nativo di Salisburgo ha sconfitto Jacopo Vasamì con un secco 6-2, 6-2, laureandosi campione. Quest’anno per lui è il secondo trionfo in un Challenger 75, dopo quello del 30 marzo a Barletta.
Molto positiva comunque la settimana di Vasamì, diciottenne entrato a far parte del main draw grazie a una wild card della Federazione e autore di prestazioni molto convincenti. Come quella che lo ha portato alla vittoria nella semifinale contro la testa di serie numero uno Stefano Travaglia. Nella sua prima finale in un Challenger 75, Vasamì è arrivato forse un po’ stanco, sicuramente con un fastidio alla spalla, e non ha mai trovato continuità nel gioco, pur facendo intravedere qualche colpo da giocatore di levatura internazionale. Ci riproverà, ma la sensazione è di aver visto all’opera un talento cristallino, simile a quello di tanti nomi oggi illustri che da giovani sono passati, con risultati ben peggiori, sui campi del Tennis Palladio 98.

“C’è grande soddisfazione per l’ottima riuscita di questa 19° edizione degli Internazionali di tennis “Città di Vicenza”. Ormai avere la tribuna che trabocca di pubblico per quasi tutta la settimana non è più una novità, ma se guardo indietro a quando siamo partiti, a quel torneo Future nato per far fare le prime esperienze internazionali ai nostri allievi, fatico ancora a credere al percorso che abbiamo fatto.
